Open Databases by Subject

Select Databases by Subject from the List in the center of the page. 

This will bring you to the database login page. 

Your Student ID Number is your Username, and your Month and Day of birth is your password.

Click login. 

This will bring you to the databases by subject page. 

Select General from the database list. The following list will drop down: 

List of databases included under General Databases

Select JSTOR. This will open a new window with the JSTOR search page. 

Searching JSTOR

 The search page for JSTOR is easy to navigate. Look for the search boxes (pictured below):

You should place one keyword or keyword phrase per line. Use the AND to connect the search phrases. You can also drop down AND to get OR and NOT to change your search phrases. 

Once you have your search phrases entered, click search.

 On the left side of the page you will see where you can refine your results. This includes refining your results for content type (book or article), publication date, and subject area. 

In the center of the page you will see your results. 

You can view an article by selecting the bold, underlined link at the top of each result. You can also download the article using the 'Download PDF' link.

Please enter your name and email address to retrieve a copy of your completed quiz.

You can enter multiple email addresses separated by commas. If you are doing this for a class, you may need to enter your instructor's email address also.
